I was wondering if any of you have info/experience on certification training and/or laws regarding the legal concealed carry of expandable batons amongst civilians here in Oregon? I know that in some states they are not legal for civilian use at all and are viewed harshly.

The collapsible baton is a compromise weapon - when not used it's handy and relatively unobtrusive to be carried on a belt. It doesn't have the same hitting power as say, a 3 foot length of polished cocobolo or walnut - but it does have a bit of intimidation factor for it.

The 6-ounce round lead blackjack on a coil spring in the "flashlight pocket" of my uniform pants pocket kept me safe without resorting to my baton or revolver. (That 6-ounces of lead whips around and will "put out someone's lights" in a hot second).
